Company Street, Valley Forge, Pennsylvania

With axes as their only tool, Continental soldiers built a thousand crude huts such as these replicas at Valley Forge for the gruelling winter of 1777-78 to specifications given by Washington. General Washington greatest achievement as commander-in-chief was keeping the army together at Valley Forge until the spring of 1778.
