Court of the Lions in the Alhambra, Granada, Spain

Built by the Moorish kings of Spain, 1230 to 1354, it is one of the most beautiful courts in the Alhambra. The Moors surrendered Granada to Spain on January 2, 1492. Days later Isabella agreed to support Columbus' proposed voyage to find a route to the Indies by sailing west.
